Burnt Blush

(Dress - StalkBuyLove, Pumps - Dorothy Perkins on jabong.com, Bag - Maiyet, Neckpiece - DonebyNone, Necklace worn as a tiara - Westside stores, Obi belt - koovs.com)

What is the ideal light to shoot outfit pictures? Natural light I would believe, but  look what natural light did to my pictures - burnt them all, even the color on my clothes!

Lesson learnt.
Shoot only in the mornings or late evenings to make the most of the warm light. Specially  avoid peak hours in the afternoon on a sunny sunny day!

Anyways, coming to my outfit, blush/pastels are definitely a major hit this season and this dress from StalkBuyLove with its dreamy, flowy fabric had to be styled :D
Since the dress was so pretty, I kept the look simple by not over accessorizing it, just one neckpiece (which broke mid-way :P) and blush pumps.
Actually even tried the look with an obi belt and liked even that (pics above)
What do you think? Which one's better?
What could be other ways of styling this?
Would be great to hear :)

Until then
Much Love,
Roop

Fall Vibes

(Dress: Zara, Boots: Truffle collection on jabong.com, Hat: H&M, Accessories: Forever21 & koovs.com)

Fall is the season of beautiful colors and this checked dress from Zara is just that. It was love at first sight. I can think of so many ways to style this but for this first look styled it with these velvet boots from Truffle collection bought online at Jabong. Part braided my hair and painted my lips red to complete the look.

These bots are also available in latex but I choose this instead. However I did buy a grey one in latex as that is trending this season and looks super cool. As for the other trends I like this season - it has to be the velvet and the metallics!!! It made heads turn in the NYFW and is sure to soon catch on with the rest of us as well.

What's your favorite trend this season?

One LBD Dress - 3 way!

(LBD: Banana Republic
Look 1 - White Shirt: Vero Moda, Red Bowtie: Flipkart, Shoes: Bershka Collection, Watch: Parforis
Look 2 - Blazer - Mango, Belt - koovs.com, Choker & layered neckpiece: Forever 21, Watch - Tissot, Pumps: Myntra
Look 3 - Slip-on dress: Macy's, Earrings: Kazo, Heels: Carlton London, Heart Pin-up: DIY)

Every girl owns that Little Black Dress and no matter how much we love that one dress, we hate repeating the same look. Hence its always a great idea to restyle those special pieces of clothing.

Here's my attempt at creating 3 looks with my absolute favorite LBD, which was gift from the bff. This dress is a stunner on its own and doesn't need any styling frankly. Here's how it looks when worn on its own :)

But as I just cant get enough of it I had to reinvent ways to wear it again and again ;)

The first look is a casual one, a look I would wear for brunch with my girlfriends or just a day out. For this look, I wore a white shirt with small polka dots underneath and added a red bowtie for that splash of color. Finished the look with white sneakers while keeping the accessories at bay, except for that watch.

The second look is more of a corporate/business look. Having worked in Goldman Sachs for 8 years, I know that one can get bored of wearing formals everyday but we can always introduce small fun elements into our daily wear, like the much trending chokers or the layered necklaces or even a sleek golden belt. That's exactly what I have tried to do with this look, add some fun with accessories and throw in a blazer for that chic finish. What I've also done is rolled my sleeves slightly for those not so important hours and finished my look with closed pumps, braided my hair and...done! :D

I wanted a fun third look, so here's how I would take my LBD to a party - wear a shimmery dress on top of it and knot it to one side to reveal the layers. I used a red heart pin to add that color pop and finished my look with smokey eyes and red lips and yes, barely here heels :P

Do you like how I styled my LBD? Any favorites?
Personally I love restyling my old clothes as much I like buying new pieces. So, I will be doing a lot more of this. Let me know if you would want to see me style anything specific.

Until then,
Loads and loads of love and sunshine........

Put your Positive Pants/Skirts On!

(Top: Forever21, Skirt: Forever New, Heels: Myntra, Earrings: H&M, Hairband: old, Glasses: Koovs.com)

Now that I've become a blogger, I am often told how well I am doing and how amazing my posts and pics are! Little do they know how I have criticized each and everything about my own work. The feeling that this is not right, that shouldn't be here, if only I had this...and so on and so forth!
But then again, why am I being so harsh on myself? ...and if everyone thinks it's good, it must be so.
Hence, I am learning to cut myself some slack and not over analyze my work.

Bottom line, what I've learnt over the past few months of my short blogging career is, positivity is everything! Everything works out if we change the way we look at it. Hence I have started planning my shoot at least a day in advance (although all I ever think of is outfit and styles :P), getting good rest the night before (don't want puffy eyes!) and waking up with a positive mind (today is going to be awesome) and half the battle is won.
Over the next few hours, give my 100% to achieve and create what I had visualized - that's the other half done!

And now, nothing can stop the results from being fabulous. Definitely, there's scope for improvement, always; things we can do better the next time around but right now that's the best of my career, that's the belief we all have to inculcate. And I am beginning to see the change this positivity has brought into my life and so can it in yours.

So now, lets kick some ass with positivity, patience and persistence!
AND....IF I CAN DO, YOU CAN DO IT!!!
Let's get started <3

Sharing pics of one of my favorite pink tops and how I styled it, will be back with more on this top soon :)

Until next time
