When the Roads call...

Hello my beautiful fellas! Wassup up.... :)
M full of energy after my quick short affair with the sea and the road :P

Last weekend we decided to drive down to Chennai and Pondicherry...and I am a sucker for road trips within India. I love the comfort and luxury of being in my own car, having the space to carry my world with me and be able to stop any place I want, what more could I want <3

My first stop was Vellore, for a friends reception - which we had to rush through unfortunately! Wore this pink mekhela sador with a blue crop top for the short visit (apologies for not being able to click enough pics) and slipped into comfortable denims as soon as we reached Chennai while the top remained :P

The weather in Chennai around this time of the year is really pleasant (no kidding! coming from a Bangalorean), so the next day I decided to wear my favorite cold shoulder H&M maxi with these new orange Forever 21 tie-ups! Completed the look by adding these gorgeous sunnies that I won from Missamore. :)
Took this look all the way from lunch at a relative to an evening at the Lighthouse beach.
(I am kind of obsessed with this dress so please don't hate me if I keep repeating it. :( )

The most popular beaches in Chennai are Marina beach and Besant Nagar Beach, however I personally feel the Lighthouse beach is a lot cleaner and less crowded. The other beach I like is the Golden beach on the ECR/Mahabalipuram road which is quite far from the city and accessible with an entry fee.

For the night look I wore a nude bodysuit from Topshop with a pair of good old denims, kept accessories at bay as I didn't want to take away from the neckline, pulled my hair into a top-knot and wore red lips to complete the look...felt good for being able to carry of the bodysuit as I haven't been the fittest at the moment. (procrastination u see!)

(That's Sherry, my princess and the soul of Sherried :D)

Anyways, lets wrap before I put you to sleep...haha...
You have an amazing day ahead...and worry not, weekends just around the corner!

Until next time..x x...

Part I - Corporate Chic!

And I'm back! To soon eh?! :P

How's the day treating you? I have been down with flu once again, so decided to clean my closet and came across all my formal clothes that have been lying unwanted and unloved ever since I quit my job about 1.5 years back. :(
It was a choice I made to be able to spend more time with my family and loved ones and I am thoroughly enjoying this phase of my life. :D
However I do miss waking up every morning and getting dressed to work! So today's look is inspired by my corporate life.

I worked for an Investment Bank before I chose to become a home maker and we definitely had some of the best dressed women in the industry. So even I had invested quite a lot in my formal clothes and couldn't throw away everything once I left. Hence I played around with a few of the pieces I own from those days.

I plan to do a series of corporate looks and here's what I pulled together for my first look.

A nice white shirt teamed with a waist high pencil skirt and grey heels with socks to complete the look. Kept it simple with minimal jewelry and natural makeup, just a pop of color on my lips to pull the look together. Decided to carry an orange satchel to add some color to my entire look yet be able to leave that bright color behind and carry just the sober part to the meetings. :P

So do you like my this look?

I will be curating a couple more corporate looks shortly and will share some do's and don'ts from my industry experience. Watch out this space...

Until next time...lets get dressy! :P

Aloe Vera, the skin food...my experience!

Hi my gorgeous folks! How's Tuesday treating y'all?
Today is International Yoga day and I have been very active post my Yoga and Sadhna. Hence decided to procrastinate no more and spend my afternoon talking to you guys.
So, let's talk about skin care today!

Beautiful smooth acne free skin has never been my best friend. Although I don't have a crazy acne problem, I do have visitors almost always :(
I don't hate the pimples as much as the after marks. Hence, for forever now, I have been on the search for a permanent solution to this and have tried almost everything from expensive spot scar treatments to OTC medicines to home remedies. And of course, I drink plenty of fluids!

This summer when I was visiting Assam I got this massive cystic acne attack, so bad that I had to change my hair parting and cover up my right cheek throughout the trip. Initially I tried my triretional tube, which usually works but not this time. I also tried various home remedies like neem-tumeric paste, honey-cinnamon...but nothing seemed to worked.
So a super depressed me sat in front of mum's mirror whining!
That's when I spotted this tube of greenish Aleo Vera gel lying on her makeup tray! Read the description and it said, useful for removal of pigmented spots...and decided to give it a shot!

And I was so surprised by the results that I bought myself 3 such tubes and its become my skins best friend (I have even been cheating on my fluid intake routine these days :P)
My aunt back home even claims that it has reduced her pigmentation problem.
I definitely can vouch for the benefits of this product. If you cannot lay your hands on this tube, buy yourself an Aloe Vera plant! Its pure skin food!

Here's what my skin looked like when I just discovered the gel (pics were taken on day 2, 4 and 6 respectively, unfortunately I didn't click a pic when my skin was battling the pimples :()

Here's how it looks now (It's far from perfect but much much better)

And now for the product I've been using - its a Patanjali product and looks like this -

I hope my story will be helpful for some of you should you ever encounter such skin problems.

I will be back with another beauty post soon.
Until then, stay gorgeous, stay happy! x x

Tale of A Skirt in the Green Valley

Hello hello....
How have you guys been?
I have been down with all kinds of health issues lately...but better now. So thought will spend some time on Sherried :)

I have been in Assam for just over a month now and desperately running out of clothes. So decided to dig my luggage and look for that 1 item that I could style in multiple ways for my short visit to the tea gardens to meet my aunt.
Luckily I was carrying this midi skirt from Forever 21. As it is a neutral color, it can be worn with most of the colors and you can hang it anywhere on your body because of the stretchy fabric. :P

So here's how I played with it!
For the first look I teamed it up with a black crop top and used a brown long shirt to create some layers, added black heels to give me access to the "top views" :P and a slight edge with a "nath".

For the second look I used the same skirt and shirt combination but wore the skirt as a dress instead. Added a statement neckpiece to hide the seams of the skirt and also add some style. Completed the entire look with brown heels.

For creating the third look, I used the skirt in the same way as look 2 to get a shorter length and threw in a loose top over it.
Knotted the ends of the top and there I had another look with the same skirt.

Do you approve of this styling? What would you do differently?...would love to read :)
Until next time, keep beautifying the world...x x...
